She employs various evidence-based treatments to guide intervention and support individuals in the promotion of mental health and wellness, including: mindfulness, interpersonal processing, motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Dr. Beverly has received specialized training and has expertise in treating ANXIETY in children and adults (e.g., generalized anxiety, specific fears, social anxiety, health/medically related anxiety, etc.).
Dr. Beverly's therapeutic style is engaging, authentic and warm. She offers clients genuine positive regard so they know they are being heard. Clients are encouraged to be active collaborators in the therapeutic process with the intention of building insight, deeper self-awareness and noticeable improvements in mental and physical wellbeing.
Strong, beautiful, resilient.
On the British Columbia West Coast (where Dr. Beverly lived for several years), the arbutus tree is known as the 'tree of knowledge' because it knows how to find the sun. It twists and turns and somehow knows to drop one branch when there is not enough sunlight, and grow a new one where the sun can reach it.
Just like humans who require conditions of safety, love and support to thrive, if the foundation is provided, we can draw on our knowledge and resilience to become strong.
Meeting in person for treatment sessions is something we miss very much! We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it's safe and will continue to offer virtual sessions until then. We are in this together!
